Dallas is a competitive wedding market, with clients who compare portfolios, packages and delivery times closely. If you shoot here, a reliable album workflow is both a revenue stream and a way to stand out, and this guide shows how to build one that does not swallow your week.
Treat the album as part of the package
Decide how the album fits your collections before you book, not after the gallery is delivered. Include an album credit or an album option in every collection so that the conversation is built in. A couple who knows an album is coming can keep it in mind when they tell you what matters to them.
Make the benefit concrete: a printed heirloom that outlasts hard drives and cloud accounts. Keep the pitch short and let the product do the work.
When a couple books months ahead, you have a long planning window. Use it to explain how the album process works and when they can expect to receive a first draft.
Designing quickly without losing quality
Pick your final images first, then design. A narrative structure, from preparation through the ceremony, portraits, reception and exit, gives every spread a purpose. Aim for variety of scale: some full-spread landscapes, some clean single images, some multi-photo storytelling pages.
In the Folio Forever online designer, Smart Auto-Layout builds every spread from your selects. You edit what you want to improve, and you or the client approve every page before printing. When time runs out, the design-team polish hand-off is +$99.
Save a template for how you cull, name and order your selects. The more repeatable your process, the faster you can move from gallery delivery to a draft the client can approve.
Presenting options and pricing
Offer a clear ladder. Sizes run from 12x24 to 20x30 inches, in classic or lay-flat binding. A 12x24 or 16x24 classic starts at $240 and lay-flat at $275, a 15x30 is $300 classic and $335 lay-flat, and a 20x30 is $340 classic and $375 lay-flat. Each includes 15 spreads and a photo cover.
Extra spreads add +$8 to +$18 each, leather covers +$25 and acrylic +$39. Presenting a base option and one upgrade makes the decision simple.
Additional revenue and referrals
Parent albums and 20-page wedding magazines at $70 are easy second sales. A magazine is also a good thank-you gift for a wedding planner or venue contact who sends you referrals in Dallas.
Keep one finished album with you for consultations, so a client can pick it up and see how a spread runs across both pages. We do not sell a sample kit yet, so the practical route is to order a copy of a past client's album at the standard price.
A quick follow-up call after the wedding season ends, thanking clients and asking whether they would like to add a parent album, is a low-pressure way to raise it again.
Delivery and expectations
Printing takes 5 to 7 business days after approval and payment. Shipping is Express $60 (5 to 7 days), Standard $32 (7 to 10 days) or Economy $12 (15 to 18 days), anywhere in the US with tracking.
The photographers page covers using the online designer for client work. A dedicated trade program is not open yet, so for now you order at the standard prices and set your own client pricing. If a book arrives with a print or binding defect, transit damage, or anything that does not match the approved proof, report it within 14 days of delivery for a free reprint or a full refund.
Be upfront about timing with clients who want an album for a holiday, and add a week or two of margin for review and any final edits they request.
Working across a large metro
The Dallas and Fort Worth area is spread out, and clients may be anywhere from Plano to Fort Worth, with some living out of state. Online design and approval means you do not need to meet in person to finish an album, and a shared draft link does the work of a consultation.
Reminders matter too. A friendly email a week after delivery and again at the two-week mark nudges clients along without feeling pushy, and keeps the album from fading into the backlog.
